3.he needs two mules for a bigger crop plantation cause he aims t get mre taters because prices are goin to go up.

Chapter 3

1. As the wedding approaches, Janie asks herself if marrige will bring love for Killick.

2. Nanny and Miss Washburn arranged the wedding.

3. Nanny thinks that Janie has gotten pregnant already, and the "information" she wants is about pregnancy.

4. Janie wants Nanny to teach her how to love Logan back.

5. Nanny means that Janie is a fool for not loving Logan, but that isn't hurting anybody.

6. Janie doesn't like the shape of Logan's head, his large belly, and his toenails.

7. After Janie leaves, Nanny collapses onto her bed, where she remains until her death, one month later.

8. Janie waits "a bloom time [spring], a green time [summer], and an orange time [autumn].

9. Janie tells the seeds that she wishes they will "'fall on soft ground,' because she heard seeds saying that to each other."

Chapter 4

1. After Nanny dies, Logan stops pampering Janie and makes her do difficult chores, like chopping wood.

2. When Logan threatens to stop chopping wood, Janie counters by threatening to stop preparing food for him.
